Access to Research Data Centres – New Application for Programs of Research
The Research Data Centre Program is a strategic joint initiative between Statistics Canada, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research to promote research and training in the application of social statistics. This joint initiative provides researchers with access to micro data from population and household surveys.
Statistics Canada has launched a new application type called Program of Research, defined as “a series of academic projects linked by a common theme; often funded by a large research grant for a program of research”. Researchers can now submit a proposal for the approval of the overall research program. Once approved, they can submit short project summary proposals, instead of a full proposal, for specific projects that fall under the umbrella of the program of research.
