SACKVILLE, NB — A group of young talents from around the globe, including several Mount Allison University students have put together a collection of interviews from some of the world’s most inspiring youth through Potential Matrix (TM).

The book and movement of the same name, co-founded in Malaysia by Mount Allison University international relations student Ian Chew, seeks to help individuals unlock their full potential. With quantitative research and interviews from a group dubbed ‘The Top 40 under 35 Global Achievers,’ whose personal prestige includes TIMEThe Economist, and Forbes magazines, the online publication’s goal is to share the strategies of this successful group.

“The main question that has been driving the project is ‘How do you unlock your full potential?’” says Chew, who is also the founder of Humans of Sackville, a community photography project on Facebook. “With Potential Matrix, we are working to tell some of these stories, partnered with extensive research, and start a global movement of unlocking this potential, especially in young people. At the same time our aim was to come out with a publication that is useful and accessible.”

Chew began the project in 2010 with co-founder and co-author Michael Teoh. The Potential Matrix (TM) team has now grown to 15 people from various parts of the world, including fellow Mount Allison students Julia McMillan (arts) and Jeehan Jawed (commerce).

Potential Matrix (TM) is meant to be a transformative journey, for both the readers and the team,” says Chew. “When selecting our top 40 under 35, we looked at several measures of success, such as global recognition of their work, as well as gender and racial diversity.”

Currently plans for Potential Matrix (TM) include a formal book launch in Malaysia with possible events to follow in Canada and the US. To learn more about the project, and read a sample chapter, visit: http://potentialmatrix.com/
