Call for Proposals: Provincial Mental Health Forum
In preparation for the Provincial Mental Health Forum scheduled to take place October 28, 29 & 30th 2015 in Moncton, NB, you are invited to submit a proposal for a presentation on one of the event’s themes.
Four broad themes
(1) Prevention and promotion: including demystification, resilience, stigma and social inclusion.
(2) Access to health care: including legal framework and First Nations legal framework, treatment, family participation, human rights.
(3) Rehabilitation: including recovery, restoration of health, cultural issues.
(4) Evaluation: including mental incapacity, epidemiology of mental illnesses, economic and human impact of inaction.
Presentations can focus on cultural specificities in mental health care as they relate to Francophone, First Nations, Anglophone and immigrant communities, or on particular needs or issues according to various age groups such as seniors or children and youth.
The proposed presentations must be evidence-based and focus on major mental health issues in order to contribute to informed discussions among participants.
Criteria for Submission
Submissions must include the title of the presentation, the subject or subjects it addresses, the language in which the presentation will be given, the link with the Forum’s themes as well as a 400 word summary of the proposed presentation.
The deadline to submit a presentation proposal is June 15, 2015.
The quality of proposals as well as their relevance to the Forum’s themes and sub-themes will guide the selection committee in determining which will be integrated to the Forum’s program.
Chosen presenters will be allocated at the most 15 minutes for their presentation followed by a question and answer session. Presentations may be part of a panel format of a maximum of three presenters, and each panel member will be allocated 10 minutes for their presentations followed by a question and answer session.
