The New Brunswick Case
When it comes to Provinces & Cities collaborating for poverty reduction, New Brunswick and their Community Inclusion Network (CIN) of regional communities are leading the way. In 2009 the province became one of Canada’s first to introduce a poverty reduction strategy, and included the creation of a Crown Corporation, the ‘Economic and Social Inclusion Corporation‘ (ESIC). The Corporation oversees the network of 12 localalities, who have created their own regionally-tailored poverty reduction strategies in line with the province’s goals and processes.
