Research Connector: Environmental Industry


You are invited to a unique event designed to connect academic researchers with those in industry and government who are seeking R&D solutions to environment-related challenges. The Environmental Industry – Research Connector provides an opportunity to deliver a quick presentation on your research specialties and how they relate to environmental challenges.

Topics to be addressed include:

–        Water and wastewater

–        Environmental biotechnology

–        Air quality

–        Site assessment and remediation

–        Solid and hazardous waste management

–        Environmental management in agriculture, mining, energy, forestry and fisheries

–        Environmental impact assessment and environmental monitoring

–        Climate change mitigation and adaptation

Companies will present brief (3 minute) overviews of their business, their key challenges or areas of interest, and the type of research expertise they are seeking. Then, researchers provide their own brief (3 minute) presentations on their research interests and expertise, and potential application to industry. Researchers are selected according to the relevance of their expertise to the needs of the companies presenting. If you would like to give a 3-minute presentation on your research and its applicability to environmental issues, please contact Sue Coueslan (sue@genomeatlantic.ca), Director of External Relations, Genome Atlantic.
