Job Opportunity: Health Information Platform Manager with The New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data and Training
The New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data and Training (NB-IRDT)’s mandate is to support objective evidence-based policy information and development through the application of statistical techniques to large administrative databases collected by the Department of Health and other provincial departments and agencies. One of the initiatives being undertaken is the development and establishment of an integrated health information platform that will enable evidence-based intervention, evaluation and quality improvement in health care services to foster improved sustainable outcomes in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). NB-IRDT is also a major part of the CIHR-funded project, the Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit (MSSU), which facilitates access to provincial health data via secure data platforms.
The incumbent’s primary responsibility will be leading and overseeing the establishment of the COPD Health Information Platform that will be maintained on the NB-IRDT data platform system. This includes management of data preparation and documentation, and overseeing data transfer protocols and agreements with data providers, as well as strategic planning of the platform in conjunction with provincial, academic and clinical partners. The incumbent will also support MSSU research activities by assisting researchers in determining appropriate knowledge transfer (KT) strategies as well as conducting in-depth literature searches, preparing comprehensive reviews and assisting in writing research reports.
