Forum and Learning Tradeshow
With the strong level of engagement taken by participants during the last November Forum, NB2026 has continued the work and taken steps to adopt a Learning Plan to make New Brunswick the learning province of Canada. With Andy Scott’s passing, it certainly motivated us even more to continue the work and passion he had toward Learning and to assure his leadership through this Learning initiative and bring about positive changes.
A Learning Steering Committee, close to 30 persons from different sectors and communities have been put in place and we hope to bring forward a Learning Agenda proposition for New Brunswick, based on the four pillars that derived from the 2012 provincial Forum:
– Early Childhood and Development;
– Literacy and Education;
– Learning and Prosperity; and
– Learning Communities.
We are inviting you to the 2nd Forum which will include a Learning Tradeshow. The Forum will be held on November 18-19 at The Fredericton Convention Centre.
During this Forum, we are inviting all organizations and businesses to engage in the many initiatives that are geared towards learning for the province. These projects and achievements will enhance the discussion on the Learning Agenda during the Forum.

Learning: Everybody’s Project is sponsored by the NB2026 Roundtable, a non-partisan group of concerned citizens from across the province personally interested in advancing New Brunswick socially, economically, culturally and environmentally. The purpose of this initiative is to connect and engage citizens of all ages, from all corners of the province and from all backgrounds, in a discussion on the importance of lifelong learning in New Brunswick. In doing this, we are hoping to bring forward a culture shift in New Brunswick.
The continuation of this initiative will be held November 18-19 through a Forum and a Learning Tradeshow. The participants will be invited to showcase their activities (programs and services) during the Learning Tradeshow, validate the Strategic objectives of the Learning Agenda and develop a Strategic plan aligning their own organization’s activities with the Learning Initiative Strategic objectives.
Questions submitted for discussion during the Forum
1- What is the province’s performance within the four pillars and what are the changes needed to make NB the Learning province of Canada?
2- Will the strategic objectives and indicators proposed permit the stakeholders to unite and participate in the Learning Agenda to help NB in becoming Canada’s Learning Province?
3- Within each pillar and each linguistic / cultural community, what are the actions already in place that are most likely to make a difference in changing the learning culture in NB?
4- Within each linguistic and cultural community, what other actions and indicators would be helpful and mutually reinforcing, to enable NB to become Canada’s Learning Province?
5- Is your organization / community amiable to the Collective Impact Process?
If your organization would like to participate and help towards a coffee break or the wine and cheese, please let me know.
In particular, participants during the Forum will need to decide on measures to take on a short term basis, recognizing that it will be impossible to do all the proposed measures all at once. This will happen on November 18-19, 2013 at the Fredericton Convention Centre.
