The Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research will be hosting a lunch and learn series in November, at the MMFC Centre, 678 Windsor Street, in recognition of Family Violence Prevention Month. Bring your lunch and learn. Everyone is welcome.

Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., presentation and discussion titled,” What Does Gender Have to do with Abuse of Older Adults”, led by Rina Arseneault, Associate Director of MMFC and Danie Gagnon, Project Manager of New Brunswick Nursing Homes Inc. and team members of ANORT (Abuse and Neglect of Older Adults Research Team)

Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Sue McKenzie-Mohr, STU Social Work professor and academic co-chair of the Sexual Assault Research Team, and Michelle LaFrance, professor in the psychology dept at STU, will lead a discussion based on their award-winning book, Women Voicing Resistance: Discursive and Narrative Explorations (Routledge, 2014)

Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., “Transforming Data into Real Help for Communities: Examples from the Work of the Religion and Violence Research Team” will be the topic for discussion led by Nancy Nason-Clark,Chair of Sociology UNB, Steve McMullin, professor Acadia University, Barbara Fisher-Townsend, professor UNB and Cathy Holtmann, Director of MMFC.
