The workshop will provide information about how and why charities participate in public policy. The workshop will shed light on charities’ responsibilities on public policy issues, including:
- reporting of political activities;
- federal lobbyist registration; and
- engagement during the federal election.
It’s important that your organization has a voice on issues of relevance to your cause and community. Their goal is to ensure that as many Board members and charity leaders as possible are empowered to support the charities with which they work to engage with confidence in public policy in 2015.
The three United Ways of New Brunswick, Greater Moncton and SENB, Saint John, Kings and Charlotte, and Centre New Brunswick (Fredericton) are our local co-hosts for the event. Together, the United Ways:
- demonstrate trust, integrity, transparency, inclusivity and respect
- energize and inspire volunteerism and volunteer leadership
- endorse innovation, partnerships and collective action
- provide non-partisan leadership
- embrace diversity
Spaces are limited, so don’t delay, register your Board member and yourself today!

Imagine Canada’s public policy work brings charities together to speak with strong united voices; we educate charities to help them get involved in the decision-making process; and we develop original policy proposals and respond to those advanced by others. This roadshow is made possible through the support of the Max Bell Foundation and the Ivey Foundation, as well as our local and national co-hosts. We also gratefully acknowledge the ongoing support of the Agora Foundation and the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation.
