What is the Knowledge Exchange and Health Promotion Forum?

The Knowledge Exchange and Health Promotion Forum (The Forum) is an annual event hosted by the AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia (ACNS). The Forum provides an opportunity for learning and sharing around HIV, Hepatitis C and other STIs as well as emerging issues surrounding prevention, treatment and care. It is an excellent opportunity for those living with, community workers and other health professionals to network with others who are also involved in HIV-STBBI work across Nova Scotia and in some cases the Atlantic region.

The Forum engage people living with HIV (PHAs), people living with HCV co-infection, representatives from community-based AIDS organizations, people in the field of health and those who have a stake in the future of HIV-STBBI work in Nova Scotia. This year, the theme is entitled: From Silos to Synergy: Connection and Integration. Through an interchange of ideas and reflections, challenges and needs, those that are tangible and intangible,  we will be able to discover and employ action-based solutions. In these types of community conversations – where we all listen deeply, reflect and respond compassionately – will sustainable, visionary, paradigm shifting and prophetic changes emerge.  Please join the conversation.

Along with various community groups, a wider variety of programming will capture what’s going on within the future of HIV-STBBI work, and other work that is happening within our local collective communities.

Why Should You Attend?

The Forum provides an opportunity for sharing models of practice, skills building opportunities, information sharing and networking with the overarching goal of increasing the capacity of people living with and those working in related fields to respond to HIV-STBBIs and related issues in their respective communities.
