Qualitative Lunch with Britta Wigginton
The next and final Qualitative Lunch will be held on Friday, Nov. 27 at 12:30 p.m. in McCain Hall, Room 306 – the Atlantic Centre for Qualitative Research and Analysis, St. Thomas University Campus.
At this time, the ACQRA is pleased to introduce Britta Wigginton, a PhD Candidate and Research Assistant at The University of Queensland, Australia. With a background in psychology, Britta’s research interests include qualitative approaches to health, the intersection of gender and health, and critical psychology. Britta has recently submitted her PhD for examination, entitled: “Put that out I can hear your baby coughing”: Exploring the stigma associated with women’s smoking during pregnancy. Britta will discuss the difficulty (but not impossibility) of challenging the notion that ‘good mothers do not smoke’ and opportunities for feminist perspectives in tobacco control research.
Sponsored by the ACQRA, both faculty and students are invited to participate in discussions of qualitative research and share their ideas. Please feel free to bring your lunch. Light refreshments will be provided.
